Air Canada has suspended all routes to Cape Breton.
In a release from the J.A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport, CEO Mike MacKinnon says the company is suspending all operations at the Sydney airport January 11, 2021.
He says there had been routes between Toronto and Halifax.
MacKinnon says it’s a major blow, especially after losing WestJet, which suspended its routes to Cape Breton in October.
He says the airport will go into a winter hibernation, and there is much uncertainty on when, and what, service will be restored to the airport.
