Alberta’s Premier says people calling health care inspectors Nazis should be ashamed of themselves.
Jason Kenney points out a recent rally at the provincial legislature against COVID-19 health measures is not the first time people such as the medical officer of health have faced threats and intimidation.
“I can assure you that the sheriff’s department tracks any actual threats that are being made against public servants, and they provide all the necessary supports. I won’t go any further than that,” said Kenney.
The Alberta premier adds he welcomes debate on how to handle a pandemic that has no sure fire way to fix.
He’s coming down hard on those calling for Alberta’s medical officer of health to be arrested, saying it is disgusting and un-Canadian.
“If there’s anything good that comes out of it, and I’ll say this directly to those people, is all they do is a dis-service to their own cause. Just like those clowns that went onto the Enoch Reserve the other day, and trespassed on First Nations Territory,” pointed out the Premier.
Kenney adds people have a right to express frustration with public health measures, but not as it was recently done.
