The local Nova Scotia Community College is on the receiving end of 100-thousand dollars.
NSCC officials say students at the Strait Area Campus will benefit as part of the two-year pilot project through the college’s Make Way campaign.
They say students will be hired for part-time, on-campus jobs in their field of study while attending the college.
NSCC officials say five-to-10 students will benefit per year.
They say they hope to expand the program to the other 13 campuses province-wide.
