Inverness Co.‘s warden says a new palliative care family room at a local hospital is impressive.
The new family room for the palliative care unit at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, which has been in use since the summer, officially opened in October.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie, the municipality’s warden, tells The Hawk it’s a much-need addition to the facility.
“I’m very impressed with the room, and the comforts that are in there for families that are dealing with severe illness (and) progressive illnesses, coming close to their end of their lives,” she says. “It’s a great addition to the Inverness hospital.”
The new room features a kitchenette, television, washroom with shower and sleeping area.
