A hockey player from the Quad Counties has been sent to the Maritime Hockey League.
Chase Ellis made the Drummondville Voltigeurs out of training camp in August.
The Volts selected the 16-year-old forward from Whycocomagh in the third round (50th overall) in June’s Quebec Major Junior Hockey League entry draft.
Ellis played seven games before he was sent to the Pictou Co. Crushers of the MHL; he scored a goal in his first game, a 7-4 Crushers win against Amherst Thurday night.
He’s joined in Pictou Co. by another former Cape Breton West Islander, Long Point’s Malcolm MacEachern; Newtown’s Stephen Fox played for Amherst.
