The Royals (3-8-1), with one win in their last three, are last in the five-team league with 10 points, three points back of Northumberland for fourth; the Cougars (9-2-1) are second with 26 points.
CEC has won the first two games in the four-game season series.

The Halifax Mooseheads play their second game in three nights when they host the Sherbrooke Phoenix in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Mooseheads (34-11-3), coming off a 7-5 home win against Victoriaville Thursday night, have won five of their last six games to sit fourth in the 18-team league with 71 points, three points behind Drummondville for third, and four points ahead of fifth-place Rimouski; the Phoenix (27-19-2) are 10th with 56 points.
It’s the second and final regular season game between the teams; Halifax won the first 4-2 in October.

Halifax, ranked eighth in the country, visits Pleasant Valley’s Jacob Hudson, Antigonish’s Jake and Sean Stewart and Moncton Saturday night.
The SAERC Saints senior girls basketball team is hosting league playoffs in Port Hawkesbury.
The top four teams in the six-team league are playing for the league banner.
The host Saints take on the Cape Breton Highlands Academy Huskies at 3 p.m.; the Dalbrae Dragons face the Richmond Academy Hurricanes at 5 p.m.
The two winners advance to the championship game Saturday afternoon; the losers play in the consolation game Saturday morning.
