The coach of the StFX women’s basketball team has been suspended as the athletic department investigates an alleged incident that injured a player last week.
Lee Anna Osei will miss the games against Memorial this weekend.
Leo MacPherson, the director of athletics at StFX says the player suffered injuries after an incident during a practice that left bruises and swelling.
MacPherson says he talked to the coach, the player and the team as part of the investigation.
He says the player has returned to the team and is expected to play against Memorial.
MacPherson says the school’s concern is for the athletes, adding that StFX wants to ensure activities are conducted as safely as possible.
