The latest StFX athletes of the week have been announced.
Chase Marchand, a goalie for the X-Men hockey team, is the male winner.
Marchand posted a shutout in StFX’s game one win against Acadia in their AUS quarterfinal series in Antigonish Wednesday, then made 54 saves in the X-Men’s 3-2 overtime loss in game two in Wolfville Friday night; he was named StFX player of the game.
Marchand made 41 saves in the X-Men’s 4-1 win in the third and deciding game in Antigonish Sunday night.
Lucia MacKay, an X-Women basketball guard, earned female honours.
MacKay had 12 points and seven rebounds in StFX’s loss to Cape Breton in Sydney Thursday, then had 12 points and eight rebounds in the X-Women’s loss to Cape Breton in Antigonish Saturday night.
