The Canso Canal has re-opened to marine traffic for the 2019 shipping season.
The canal closes due to ice buildup in the Northumberland Strait every December, and re-opens in April; it re-opened at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
That means the return of potential delays at the Canso Causeway because of boats.
