Two RCMP officers with ties to the Quad Counties have been honoured with a national life-saving award.
Cst. Christine Pelly and Cpl. Deepak Prasad received the St. John Ambulance National Silver Award for saving an elderly man who collapsed during the Nov. 2018 Remembrance Day ceremony in Antigonish.
Pelly is stationed at the Antigonish RCMP, while Prasad, who formerly served in Port Hawkesbury and Antigonish, is the wellness peer support coordinator at provincial RCMP Headquarters in Dartmouth.
They received their award in Halifax in May.
