A D’escousse woman says her book isn’t a typical read; she calls it a guide to memoirs.
Marjorie Simmons is the author of Memoir: Conversations and Craft.
Simmons says the book is a memoir, but also a guide to writing one.
She says she asked seven of Canada’s top writers to share their wisdom on how they wrote their books.
Simmons tells The Hawk Morning Show everyone has a story to tell.
“We all have those stories, those lovely, lovely stories, in our mind that we want to think about.” she says. “Just get started and think about how wonderful it’ll be for your kids to read those stories later on, and how satisfying it’ll be for you to get those words on paper.”
Simmons says you don’t have to write the entire story of your life, a memoir focuses on one defining moment.
