
A well-known Antigonish chocolate maker has won a pair of prestigious awards.
Tareq Hadhad recently received Canadian Immigrant‘s Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award for the positive impact he’s made on his community.
The founder and CEO of Peace by Chocolate was also recognized with the organization’s 2020 Entrepreneurship Award, which is presented to a Canadian immigrant who has achieved notable success as an entrepreneur.
Hadhad and his family members, who were forced to flee their homes in war-torn Syria in 2013, arrived in Antigonish in 2016; he opened his new chocolate factory shortly after.
