Officials in the Municipality of the District of Guysborough have announced a new way to try to attract doctors to the area.
They say they’re putting up a $100,000 financial incentive for each new recruited physician.
MODG officials say the doctor must be willing to sign a five-year return of service contract to be a full-time practitioner at one or both of the hospitals in the municipality- Guysborough Memorial Hospital and Eastern Memorial Hospital in Canso.
They say they’ll funnel the commitment through the local hospital foundations as they keep working with Nova Scotia Health Authority officials to recruit physicians.
