The Department of Lands and Forestry is providing an update on two forest fires in progress.
They say the two fires are burning in an area with limited access near highway 103 in Barrington.
Two helicopters were also dispatched to perform water drops in the area. A group of 15 Lands and Forestry staff are on the ground attending to the fire.
The cause of the fires is not known.
The fires were detected Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. The smallest fire is reported to be 0.1 hectares in size, and the second is reported to be 75 hectares in size and growing. There are three structures in the area at risk, but erratic winds have made it unsafe for people to move in.
Lands and Forestry says because of the erratic behavior of the fire, and its remote location, volunteer fire departments are not being used at this time.
