Two Cape Breton Organizations are joining forces on an initiative aimed at attracting and retaining healthcare professionals to the island.
Cape Breton South Recruiting for Health and the Cape Breton Regional Municipality Community Health Recruitment and Retention Committee have created an electronic mailing list to help coordinate newcomer healthcare workers with accommodations.
The goal is not only to attract, but to retain healthcare professionals by making the transition as easy and barrier free as possible.
“This is the first collaboration between the two committees, and is an important tool for Healthcare Navigators to have the ability to access when attracting new healthcare workers
to beautiful Cape Breton – Unama’ki,” said Trevor Boudreau, Co-Chair of the CBSRH “This tool will allow us to connect with landlords, and will also help ensure that the healthcare professional’s criteria aligns with the accommodations available.”
Landlords, real estate agents and others with properties to offer are encouraged to sign-up to be contacted when a Healthcare Navigator is seeking housing for a healthcare professional.
All information will be kept private and only be used as a resource for Healthcare Navigators who are seeking housing for healthcare professionals to relocate.
When a navigator is seeking housing for a healthcare professional, they’ll reach out to landlords on the list.
If you’re a landlord or have accommodations for sale or rent, you can sign up for the Cape Breton Housing Mailing List here
