L.L. Bean will officially open its Dartmouth Crossing store on September 10th.
The popular American clothing and outdoor supply company previously said it would open its first Atlantic Canadian store this year but had not confirmed a specific date.
Now, the new store will be located at 174 Hector Gate, Dartmouth Crossing and cover 15,000 square feet of space.
L.L. Bean was founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean. It’s headquartered in Freeport, Maine and has more than 50 stores in the United States.
It’s also one of four new L.L. Bean locations opening across Canada in 2021. The others will be in Victoria and Burnaby, British Columbia and Calgary, Alberta.
L.L. Bean has said it is expanding after its customer base grew 100 percent in 2020.
The company recently reported its best fiscal year in nearly a decade in 2020, with net revenues topping $1.59 billion. That was an increase of five per cent from the previous year.
