Now that community use of schools is allowed, you can visit the Port Hawkesbury library in person again.
The library was closed to the public because it’s located inside the Strait Area Education and Recreation Centre, which has had restrictions on community access amid the pandemic.
It reopened to the public Tuesday, including public access to computers and internet.
Public Health protocols, as such COVID screenings and a sign in sheet for contact tracing, are still in place.
Masks are also still mandatory inside the library; expect masking to continue until the provincial mask mandate is lifted and masking is no longer required in public schools.
While curbside pickup is being curbed, you can still order takeaway books. The only difference in now you have to go inside to pick up your order.
The libraries borrow by mail program will also continue to run.
