A new leader has been elected to represent the Green Party of Nova Scotia after a vote was held on Saturday.
93 per cent of the party members who cast ballots chose Anthony Edmonds as leader and Jo-Ann Roberts as deputy leader.
Edmonds is an aerospace engineer from Halifax, and he has run as a Green candidate in both provincial and federal elections.
Roberts has served as the interim leader of the Green Party of Canada, a role she was appointed to after Elizabeth May stepped down in November 2019.
They were the only names on the ballot after Richard Zurawski and Nick Hendren withdrew from the race last month.
Members had the option to vote for the pair or “none of the above.”
A news release from the party says both Edmonds and Roberts will focus on growing membership and building the party’s brand identity.
It says they’ll also look to implement a Shadow Cabinet and make fundraising a priority.
