A new poll shows people are very happy with the Progressive Conservatives.
The satisfaction level for Tim Houston’s provincial government sits at 67 per cent.
Houston led his party to a majority government during the election in August. Since then, his party has been quick to deliver on election promises, most notably reforming the health care system ad introducing fixed election dates.
“Since assuming power, Premier Houston and his team have taken a firm stance on COVID-19 pandemic preventative measures. Swift actions were also put in place to address PC campaign promises, most notably the plan to reform health care, introduction of a fixed election date, and introduction of its climate change bill,” said Margaret Brigley, CEO & Partner, Narrative Research. “While the government’s first session of the Legislature was not without drama, findings show Nova Scotians strongly endorse the new government’s actions to date.”
Meantime, the PC’s have gained traction since the election as 42 per cent of decided voters would support the party.
That is followed by the Liberals at 26 and NDP at 24 per cent.
When asked who they would prefer as premier, newly elected Premier Tim Houston is the preferred choice at 38 per cent. Iain Rankin is preferred by 19 per cent, while preference for next leader of the NDP stands at 16 per cent.
New Green Party leader Anthony Edmonds came in at three per cent and Jonathan Dean of the Atlantica Party at two percent.
These results are part of Narrative Research’s Atlantic Quarterly, an independent, quarterly telephone survey of Atlantic Canadians, and are drawn from an overall sample of 800 adult Nova Scotians, conducted from November 4-21, 2021, with overall results accurate to within ±3.5 percentage points, 95 out of 100 times.
