The COVID-19 outbreak at StFX continues to grow.
73% of cases announced today are from the university in Antigonish.
Public Health says there has been no evidence of spread in classrooms or residences to date, and there’s no secondary transmission in the community.
Officials say the investigation has found most of the spread happened in smaller, private gatherings.
Nova Scotia’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Strang, says It is important that community members and students practice public health measures, especially masking and isolation, if need be, and get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms.
The university reports that about 95% of the student body is vaccinated.
