Premier Tim Houston is condemning the protest that took place last night outside the home of Dr. Robert Strang.
Members of the “Freedom Nova Scotia” group gathered outside the Chief Medical Officer’s home to protest continuing mask mandates in schools.
Houston was asked if the Protecting Access to Health Services Act should be extended to health officials like Dr. Strang.
“I think so. I don’t know that I have a strong enough word to really express my emotions over people protesting at the home of the Chief Medical Officer,” “There’s lots of places you can protest, just don’t do it at somebody’s private residence, so we’ll have those discussions.”
The act was introduced to prevent protesting that blocks hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
Houston says Dr. Robert Strang has provided an incredible service the last two years at great personal sacrifice to both himself and his family.
“To protest at his home, where he lives but also his family lives, is completely inappropriate and that’s not something that should be happening in Nova Scotia or anywhere quite frankly.”
It’s not the first time protesters have gathered in front of Strang’s home.
