Three people are facing drug trafficking charges after two searches in Cape Breton on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation.
Investigators arrested a 26-year-old Halifax man who was staying at the Travelodge Hotel and seized more than $10,000 and hundreds of oxycodone pills.
Cape Breton Regional Police also say a search warrant was issued at a home on Main Street in Sydney. A man and a woman, both 24-years-old, were arrested inside.
Officers seized 100 grams of cocaine, hydromorphone pills, more cash, and other drug paraphernalia.
Shiquawn Upshaw-Paris is charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in oxycodone, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Courtney Reid-Boone and Adam Fraser MacKrous, both of Sydney, are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in hydromorphone, and possession of property obtained by crime.
Reid-Boone faces an additional charge of trafficking in cocaine as well as three breaches of probation.
