The Canso Causeway Swing bridge in action from the water!

I was kayaking last weekend and happened to be at the Canso Causeway when a boat went through.

I increased the speed on the video to double – the actual time was closer to 3 minutes.

The 68th anniversary of the Canso Causeway opening was last month. You can read more about the history here. 

Drivers were required to pay a toll to cross the Causeway until December 1991.
