Bay Ferries is out with the final numbers for the CAT’s season.
They say the Nova Scotia to Maine ferry carried 36,151 passengers and 14,972 vehicles, completing 113 round trips total with 12 weather cancellations.
US traffic was 35% lower than 2018 according to Bay Ferries and US travelers represented about 75% of passengers.
However, Chief Executive Officer for the Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association Neil Mackenzie said the ferry delivered very positive results for Nova Scotia’s tourism industry.
Bay Ferries has also estimated a loss of 2,000 passengers as a result of Hurricane Fiona.
Although the province has recently criticized the service and hinted at a possible cancellation, Bay Ferries says they are looking forward to welcoming more passengers aboard the CAT next year.
