Residents of St Peters showed their support for Make a Wish Canada this past Sunday. The event was called Zombie Walk for Wishes and it was organized by Shanna Burke a Volunteer Coordinator for the organization, and it was held at the St Peters Lions Hall.
“We all gathered at the hall and there was a Bakesale, and beavertails was there, and they donated a dollar from each beavertail to Make a Wish. We had some rats there that you could touch and check out and we had a pumpkin carving contest, you brought your carved or decorated pumpkin to be judged.” Stated Burke. ” We did a walk through the village with everybody dressed as zombies we made a little pit stop at the villa for the seniors and back to the hall where we heard some wish stories and gave out the prizes.”
The prizes were for those that made a pledge of at least 50 dollars to the fundraiser. Money was made through personal donations as well and a total of $2.900 was raised. Burke would like to thank everyone that took part in the event and to those that made donations.
Make a Wish provides wishes to children with various life altering illnesses.
