The East Coast Music Award get started today in Halifax. One Cape Breton duo could bring home some serious hardware.
Madison Violet is a group made up by Lisa MacIsaac and Brenley MacEachern. They began making music together in the late 90’s after spending years jamming together in MacEachern’s grandmother’s kitchen.
They’ve been nominated for a Juno award and Thursday night are up for four different ECMAs. Along with their chance to bring home some trophies, Madison Violet are one of the performers who will grace the stage at the awards show. They’re one of two Cape Breton acts who will be performing, along with industry legend Natalie MacMaster, who was recognized last month for her outstanding career in music.
Madison Violet have been nominated for Contemporary Roots Recording of the Year, Folk Recording of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and TD Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year.
