Two people have been charged with attempt to commit murder after a home invasion in Upper Hammonds Plains.
Halifax RCMP responded to the invasion on Lifestyles Lane on Wednesday afternoon. A man and a woman had forced their way into the home and shot at another man inside of it. Officers say the victim was known to the attackers.
The 28-year-old man suffered minor injuries but was able chase the assailants away using an axe. The suspects fled in a grey Honda Civic. Officers were able to quickly locate the car and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspects gave chase and were pursued onto Highway 101 by the RCMP.
It wasn’t until the suspects collided with another vehicle that officers were able to make the arrests. They collided with a Ford Focus at the intersection of Highway 14 and Wentworth Road in Sweets Corner.
