Students across Nova Scotia wore orange today.
Schools are hosting Orange Shirt Day today, as National Truth and Reconciliation Day approaches.
Wearing the shirt embodies the ‘Every Child Matters’ movement.
It recognizes residential school survivors and those that didn’t make it home.
Assemblies and events happened throughout the province.
There will be no school for students on Monday.

BLT Sr. recognized Orange Shirt Day and Gemma showed her leadership while providing a powerful story to our school. Thank you to Miss Jennie for the opportunity, and well done Bear Country! pic.twitter.com/SKV01pwK8e

Today, and every day, we honour those who attended Residential Schools in Canada and acknowledge the harm and intergenerational trauma experienced by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Survivors, their families and their communities.https://t.co/axSveWNx3X pic.twitter.com/DfFlpFfmfU
