Last week the province announced a new app that makes it easier for people to book blood colection appointments, check ER wait times, book xrays and more. If you haven’t had a chance to download the app yet, I have and this is what it looks like.
By the way if you can’t find the app in the app store just click this link. I had some trouble finding it too.
Android Devices– https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.nshealth.healthconnect.android
Apple Devices– https://apps.apple.com/us/app/yourhealthns/id1669331387
As you can see, it is pretty straightforward. When it comes to booking blood work or X-rays, they will want you to input a referral number that was given to you by a doctor or healthcare professional. It is nice to have it all in once place though and you don’t have to call and wait on hold.
Another handy tool on the app is the ER wait time. I’m not sure how accurate these are, but you can search any ER and see how long your wait time would be.
All in all it seems like if everything works smoothly it’s a great tool to use. Hopefully more features will be added as time goes on.
Have you used the app yet? What did you think?
