Crews are now working to get the lights back after a strong wind storm knocked out power to thousands in our province.
Nova Scotia Power was dealing with more than 60,000 outages at the peak of the storm and overnight the number held at about 38,000 outages.
Spokesperson Matt Drover says they have teams spread out across our province to respond.
“We will be positioning crews across the province so they are ready to respond as soon as it is safe to do so,” said Drover. “High winds can cause trees to come into contact with power lines causing power outages and can also slow restoration efforts.” said Drover.
He is asking for patience as they need to wait for winds to calm before getting crews up in buckets. Winds gust must be below 80 km/h before they can start restoring power.
