Most of Nova Scotia, including Cape Breton, is in for very wet, windy weather followed by a fast freeze.
Environment Canada’s rainfall warning calls for 25 to 50 mm with south winds gusting 70-90 km/h from Friday evening to Saturday evening.
The forecaster says the frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall and localized flooding is possible.
Make sure storm drains are clear to assist with drainage.
As well, a temperature drop after the rain could cause very slippery conditions.
