It was 9 years ago this week that a picture of a dress caused otherwise sane adults to passionately fight on the internet.
It was February of 2015 when Cecilia Bleasdale took a picture of a dress in a store in England. Her daughter, Grace, was getting married in a week and she wanted to show her daughter a picture of the dress she would be wearing.
In reality, the dress was blue with black lace. However, when Grace looked at the picture, she saw it as white with gold lace.
When the question was posed to the masses on social media, within a week, over 10 million tweets mentioned the dress and the store that sold the dress had a surge in sales.
Fast forward to the wedding, the band who was performing became so preoccupied with debating the dress (despite seeing that in person, it was blue and black) that they were almost late starting their set.
