Pierre Poilievre spent a day in the Strait area.
The Conservative Party leader’s stops on Wednesday included Port Hawkesbury Paper, the ROC Society and a hunters’ meet-and-greet at the Maritime Inn.

He said he loves this part of Nova Scotia, but that it’s tough to see people struggling with the cost of food, fuel and housing skyrocketing.
Poilievre added that people can’t afford to live, and that he was here to bring a “message of hope.”
When asked about what motivated him through non-stop campaigning, Poilievre said it’s something he believes in, and millions of people are depending on him.
“Millions of people want once again to live in a country where they can earn a powerful paycheck that buys affordable food, gas and homes in safe neighborhoods. That’s what we’re going to deliver.”
Poilievre also said it was a great pleasure to visit the ROC Society, a community based not-for-profit organization that helps people with disabilities work towards their hopes and dreams.
He said they’re meeting the challenge and that he was honoured to see people work so hard and contribute so much.
He also thanked all the ROC volunteers who make it possible.
Poilievre became leader of the official opposition in September 2022 and has said he is running for prime minister.

Thank you to the incredible ROC Society staff & volunteers in Port Hawkesbury for the visit this afternoon. And for all the work you do to support & empower Canadians with disabilities. pic.twitter.com/lobml6tAMe

Port Hawkesbury's law-abiding hunters & sport shooters know common sense Conservatives won't treat them like criminals.

Stop going after legal firearms owners. Go after the gangsters & gun smugglers. Stop the crime.
