Following a string of recent bomb threats at schools across Nova Scotia, Education Minister Becky Druhan says the province will continue to treat them with the utmost seriousness even when most end up being fake.
“It’s disruptive for students, and for teachers,” said Druhan. “So whenever there are threats at schools the regions and schools work closely with authorities to make sure these incidents are dealt with properly,”.
Druhan wasn’t willing to comment on particular incidents, noting that most are still under police investigation.
The Minister did indicate that the threats would be discussed at the upcoming Safety Leadership Meeting in two weeks.
In the last month, police have been dispatched to eight bomb threats at schools around Halifax Regional Municipality, and a total of 12 threats across the province.
