A youth is facing charges for online threats and being in possession of a weapon.
Inverness County District RCMP say it happened last Wednesday at a school in the Mabou area.
Officers went to investigate after a report that the young person made threats toward a peer on social media.
School staff separated them from other students, and found they were in possession of an edged weapon.
This was seized by police, the young person was arrested, and later released on conditions.
They will appear in court at a later date.
The investigation is ongoing.
