A 43-year-old Digby man is facing child pornography charges after a child sex doll was seized at the Canadian border in Ontario.
RCMP say border agents found the doll in Hamilton while examining shipments flown into Canada.
The doll had come from Japan but was addressed to a home in Digby, which was searched by officers October 17.
There, they seized other child sex dolls, as well as child pornography and smuggling evidence and arrested the man.
“Child pornography is most commonly known and understood as sexual images or videos of children,” says Cst. Mandy Edwards of the RCMP Provincial ICE Unit.
“However, child pornography can also be written, or in audio forms, or as in this case, a visual representation such as a child sex doll. Child pornography in all its forms is considered harmful and is prohibited by the Criminal Code.”
The suspect has been released on conditions and will appear in court in January.
