The Liberals have requested a recount for leader Zach Churchill’s seat.
He lost the riding of Yarmouth to Progressive Conservative Nick Hilton by 14 votes.
Churchill’s official agent David Sollows says there were strange fluctuations in vote counts on election night.
“We aren’t going to be surprised if there’s no real change, but we want to make sure people that supported the campaign and donated feel confident that the process was what it needed to be,” said Sollows.
On Elections Nova Scotia’s website on election night, it showed each candidate tied at over 5,000 votes at one point, before the vote count was reduced.
The Liberals filed the request in Yarmouth Provincial Court on Monday.
The recount will take place on December 9.
It’s the second recount for the election.
In Annapolis, PC candidate David Bowlby defeated Liberal incumbent Carman Kerr by just seven votes.
A recount is automatic when the spread is under 10 votes.
