Big upgrades for a centre in Judique that celebrates Celtic music.
The province says they are investing $750,000 through the Community Economic Development Fund into the Celtic Music Interpretive Centre.
The money is to support the facility’s efforts in expanding their reach, improving the visitor experience and becoming a year-round operation.
The centre will be remodeled and will expand its online presence by broadcasting live music and videos.
“The upgrades will have an impact on the provincial arts and culture sector, attracting visitors from around the world to the Official Celtic Music Centre of Nova Scotia,” said Minister of Growth and Development Colton LeBlanc, on behalf of MLA Kyle MacQuarrie.
Board Chair of the centre, Marina MacEachern says, they are excited to partner with the province on this project.
“[It] will help to ensure the sustainability of our centre and, when completed, will showcase a variety of physical upgrades, both interior and exterior, and programming that will include enhanced learning opportunities, both on-site and virtually.”
The centre was designated the Official Celtic Music Centre of Nova Scotia by the legislature in 2013.
