A local hockey group is reminding you that it’s just about time to vote for Kraft Hockeyville.
The Sackville Arena has the made the final four of the national competition.
President of the Sackville Minor Hockey Association Rob Nurnbur, tells us, there is now a big push to get the word out.
“Jokingly, but not joking… I’ve been asking people to take off Friday as well to vote. You can vote as often and as frequently as you can,” says Nurnbur.
Lots of support
The Sackville Arena has had support from all over the Atlantic provinces.
“I’ve reached out to Hockey New Brunswick and Hockey PEI and Hockey Newfoundland as well and they’ve all expressed their support for us,” says Nurnbur.
“They are asking their associations and their provinces to do the same as well.”
The events
There will be events at the Sackville Arena all day Friday and Saturday.
Nurnbur says there will be a pancake breakfast, barbecues and stations set up to vote.
Saturday, they are talking about having a parade and music artists will be on site.
He says he feels like they’ve already won, but winning Kraft Hockeyville would be the icing on the cake.
“The journey started for me personally two years ago. Over the last year my committee has been working really hard to make this a reality for our community. And you know, I think we’ve already made history.”
The winner of Kraft Hockeyville gets $250,000 and hosts a preseason NHL game.
You can vote Friday and Saturday.
