A Port Hood man has been charged for going what RCMP describe as “a whopping 90km/h above the posted speed limit” on Highway 19.
RCMP say a traffic services officer stopped a Dodge Charger travelling 180km/h near Port Hastings just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old driver got a summary offence ticket for stunting, which carries a fine of $2422.50 in Nova Scotia. His license was suspended and his vehicle seized for seven days.
According to a police release, “Speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads.”
If you see someone driving unsafely on our roads, please report it by calling the RCMP at 1-800-803-RCMP (7267).
If you believe it is an emergency, call 911.
