Police have arrested a man wanted province-wide for an attempted murder in Millbrook following a crash in Colchester County.
At about 1 a.m. on Friday, RCMP and the Truro Police Service responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 102 near Brookfield. It was reported three males left the scene of the crash and ran into the woods.
Police say the same pick-up truck and SUV had fled an earlier traffic safety checkpoint.
RCMP Police Dog Services and the Emergency Response Team were dispatched to assist.
Shortly after, Truro Police arrested a 27-year-old male wanted on province-wide arrest warrants since last fall for several offences in Halifax and Millbrook, including aggravated assault and attempted murder.
RCMP then arrested a 17-year-old male from Eastern Passage nearby. The youth was armed and wearing body armour.
Efforts to locate and arrest the third male continue.
Officers seized three firearms, two sets of body armour, ammunition, and the two vehicles, one of which is believed to have been stolen.
The investigation into the crash and firearms is ongoing.
