After a brief appearance in Yarmouth Provincial Court today, a high-risk sex offender will continue to be remanded until his next court date.
Allen William Desrosiers was arrested last Wednesday in Rockville, Yarmouth County, on charges of Criminal Harassment in relation to two incidents of stalking according to the Nova Scotia RCMP.
Desrosiers has been held in custody since his arrest and appeared in court this afternoon for a show cause hearing.
He will return to court in person on Thursday, December 22.
Desrosiers, a Canadian citizen, was previously convicted, and served a full 23-year sentence in the United States, for charges including kidnapping, rape, assault and battery.
Though he had returned to Canada and was living in the Yarmouth County area since August, the public was not notified of his presence until the day of his arrest.
