Former First Lady Michelle Obama is coming to Halifax this Fall.
She will be the featured speaker during an event at the Scotiabank Centre on October 18, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Nova Scotia Co-operation Council.
The council is dedicated to supporting and promoting co-ops and credit unions by providing education, marketing and representation to government and industry. Co-ops and credit unions have significant economic impact and are the 3 largest employer groups in the province.
The event is part of Co-op week and it’s not the fist time an Obama has visited Halifax. In 2019, former president Barack Obama spoke at an event at the Scotiabank Centre marking the 70th anniversary of the council.
Tickets for the event go on sale on August 10, and in addition to the tickets sold, the council has reserved 3,000 free tickets for deserving bright minds, offering them access to additional learning opportunities at no cost.
