Nova Scotia liberals want the Houston government to provide more support for flood victims.
Bedford Basin MLA Kelly Regan has called on the government to purchase the homes of those who live on floodplains and who experienced severe flooding this summer.
She says many people are paying mortgages on severly damaged houses they cannot live in.
Regan says with climate change, these homes will flood again and telling people to rebuild ignores the very real threat to many residents
After similar devastating floods in Sydney in 2016, the previous government gave severely impacted households the opportunity to sell their homes to the province.
