Once again, 2 songwriters, Andy Stone and Troy Powers, are suing Mariah Carey over her holiday classic, All I Want for Christmas is You.
A similar suit was filed last year from the same people. That suit was dropped after 5 months.
They claim Mariah copied their song of the same name which was performed under the name Vince Vance and the Valiants. You can listen to the song below and see if it rings a (Christmas) bell. Apparently, it was on the charts back in 1993.
The lawsuit claims that there are substantial similarities in the hook, melody and overall feel of the songs. They are suing her, co-writer Walter Afanasieff and Sony Music Entertainment for 20 million dollars.
