We lost another Nova Scotian and Canadian legend yesterday. Myles Goodwyn from the iconic band April Wine passed away at the age of 75. Myles along with the original April Wine lineup, started the band in Waverly Nova Scotia in 1969. They then moved to Montreal, Quebec.
Over the next 30 plus years the band would release dozens of classic songs like Could Have Been A Lady, Fast Train, Roller, Sign Of The Gypsy Queen, Enough is Enough and many many more. Their many incredible songs didn’t only reach the top of the Canadian charts but were also the soundtrack of millions around the world.
Myles then went on to record many solo projects and toured by himself as well. I got the chance to interview Myles back in September. I believe it was one of his last interviews. He was preforming in Yarmouth at Th’Yarc and you could still hear the incredible spirit and passion in his voice. You can listen to the full interview below.
My favorite part of that interview was my last question. I asked him what he wanted to be remembered for and he simply said “Songwriting” he went on to say “I’ve written some classic songs”
He sure has! Rest easy Myles!
