Members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union Halifax Local have lined the Armdale rotary in Halifax at the heart of rush hour.
It’s a busy traffic circle on Chebucto Rd and Joseph Howe Drive.
The union and the province are at the table Monday and Tuesday with a conciliator, trying to reach a fair deal.
More than 10,000 voted in favour of a strike last week, one day after more than 500 union members lined Sackville Dr at the Royal Canadian Legion to bring awareness to challenges they face.
President Ryan Lutes says the vote is a ‘wake-up call’ to the province.
Meanwhile, Minister of Education Becky Druhan says she’s disappointed by the results, but the government is committed in reaching a fair deal.
Talks have been ongoing since June.
