Three Cape Breton Eagles hockey players were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Monday.
The team said the players were involved in a multi-vehicle crash that happened on Highway 104 while they were travelling to Cape Breton.
Angelo Fullerton, Lucas Romeo and Brayden Schmitt were taken to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish.
Fullerton and Romeo were sent home Monday night, but Schmitt was admitted overnight while medical staff monitored his condition.
But the team expects him to be released in the next few days.
“This was a scary situation of course, but as an organization we are relived no one got seriously hurt,” wrote Sylvain Couturier in a news release.
He said they are also grateful no one else in the vehicles were seriously injured, and they thank hospital staff and first responders for their care.
