It looks like a stormy end to the week for eastern Nova Scotia.
An intense low-pressure system is expected to track southeast of the province, then intensify as it heads northeastward towards Atlantic Canada.
Environment Canada’s special weather statement says heavy rain and strong winds are possible Thursday night and Friday morning from Guysborough to Victoria counties.
The forecaster says the worst of it is expected to stay offshore, but rainfall and wind warnings may be issued if the system tracks farther west.
Special weather statements are also in effect in eastern Newfoundland.
