The federal leaders are hoping to take advantage of the Liberal’s slip in the opinion polls.
The latest opinion from Angus Reid shows the gap between the Liberals and Conservatives had narrowed.
The Liberals are shown to have 44% support of decided voters to the Conservatives’ 39%.
The margin for the Liberals was as much as 10 percentage points at the beginning of April.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says the choice for voters is clear.
“A fourth term Liberal term with Mark Carney, whose plan is even more reckless and costly than Justin Trudeau’s? Or a new Conservative government that will cut waste and bureaucracy, bring down taxes, unleash home building and resource development so that Canadians can afford a good life on a safe street,” says Poilievre.
Liberal Leader Mark Carney says now is the time for strong, positive leadership.
“I’m asking you to vote with me for positive reasons, regardless of which party you voted for and supported in the past because this is the time for serious leadership of a united country,” says Carney.
“We need to come together so we can fight President Trump together.”
The NDP’s support remains unchanged at 7% since the start of the election.
Leader Jagmeet Singh is not giving up on eying a minority government and his party influencing the decisions in the House of Commons.
“Don’t let the Liberals have all the power,” pleads Singh.
” They want all the power. They would love to have all the power and do whatever they want. Ignore you. Forget you. Don’t let that happen.”
The federal election takes place on April 28th.
